Henna

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. (Ecclesiastes 9:10) NLT

We learn something new everyday, so they say. Well I say that I learn way too many things in one day, but for those things I am grateful. I learned that Henna was flowering plant, derived from the Henna Tree, a flowering plant. Many of you have seen this in the Indian culture, which I am very inspired by. (that is really an understatement) See you learned something new about me today =)

I think there is something beautiful about hands, something feminine and telling about a woman. Through the softness, lines, finger length and shape, we are beautiful. We are beautiful without the polish, we are beautiful without bands and rings, and we are beautiful without Henna. There is a story about us in every wrinkle, rough patch and the dryness. But we can always turn to God to be our moisture…soothing away all the dryness and callused areas. He warms us and penetrates deep within, just as the moisture that we seek when we circle our hands over and over again until all the lotion is spread throughout. It is comforting knowing that the more we rub, the more we feel, the more he loves us.

So let us be reminded of the scripture that we read above. Work hard, use your hands…and whatever work your hands engage in, do it with all you have! We know that God loves us, and if he is for us, then nothing and no one can successfully stand against us. His love is our lotion, it soothes, covers, and moisturizes even the roughest patches.
